Continuously ranked as an IP Star by Managing Intellectual Property (Managing IP) magazine since 2014, Fortuna has longstanding experience in providing legal and IP services in various fields, including pharmaceuticals, fashion, F&B, consumer goods, entertainment, e-commerce, technology, health and medical services, social media.
Her past experience as an in-house counsel in one of the leading F&B companies has furnished her with a deep knowledge and understanding in managing IP (trademark, patent, industrial design, copyrights, trade secrets), licensing, franchising, advertising and other legal matters in Indonesia. She also worked in a French Law Firm in Versailles, France and 3 prominent law firms in Indonesia before establishing FAIP Advocates & IP Counsels. In 2019, Indonesian Creative Economic Agency (BEKRAF) involved her as one of experts for developing a legal guidance on IP commercialization for creative industries, together with Indonesian Franchise Association and Indonesian License association. She was recognized as one of the “Top 250 Women in IP 2019” in the world based on research conducted by Managing IP magazine, and mentioned as a highly knowledgeable and creative IP lawyer by Asia IP Law magazine. Aside from non-contentious legal services, Fortuna has also handled many contentious cases. She successfully settled several cases out of Court, as well as at the Court. She is also known for her strategic approach in endeavour to solve the problem efficiently.
Fortuna takes part in Industrial Design Standing Committee of Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), representing Indonesian Group and she has been serving as treasurer of Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) since 2012 until present, and as vice treasurer of Indonesian Intellectual Property Attorneys Association (AKHKI).
After having Bachelor of Law Degree, Fortuna lived in France for 3 years, where she attended preparation study on Law of International and European Community Economic Relations at the University of Paris X, Nanterre, and also worked as an apprentice in a French Law Firm for 2 years in Versailles, France. She has attended various training, seminars and law excursion in Europe such as Business in France held by French Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris, attending hearings of International conflict at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, and attending seminars at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg.
